“StarBird products are the new breed of playthings designed for what a bird wants and needs. Physical activity and intellectual challenges that make birds think and reason are really essential for a parrot everyday. StarBird has products that do exactly these things. They are carefully thought out from the perspective of our birds, beneficial for our birds and the birds love them. I would like to see every parrot with some of these enrichment ideas that keep them thinking, active, healthy and happy.” Marc Morrone "...THE MOST ORIGINAL & IMPORTANT CONTRIBUTION TOWARDS ENRICHMENT..." Dr. Stewart Metz "The Brainiac Block is sure to help us beat the devastating effects of parrot boredom, the greatest challenge faced by caregivers and their birds." S. G. Friedman, Ph.D., Applied Behavior Analyst, Utah State University. "Luca is a very docile bird, she is never caged. She just hangs out on top, will go inside to eat and play, then comes right back on top and plays or sits on her swing and looks out the window. She doesn't chew anything that she's not supposed to or get into any trouble. When the other birds are out, she'll crawl around other cages, but that's it. The other day I went in the Bird Room, and low and behold, Luca had climbed up on the Get A Grip! She now has widened her excursions to include sitting and climbing on the Get a Grip. I am thrilled!!!! She has always been a perch potato and I have to watch what she eats because she tends to be overweight. I'll go into their room and she'll be climbing all over the thing and she'll give me a big "HELLO". LOVE THAT THING! Jadie also loves it.. so much that I have a pretty hard time getting her off of it. She hangs straight down from it and pulls my hair." Julie Weltz "Love as much as you can from wherever you are." Thaddeus Golas "I love the two items I bought from you.... I have a Lovebird, and while the 'Fine Vine' and 'Fuzzy Wuzzy Preener' are large for him, we have found good use for both. The Fine Vine hangs from the middle of his cage and has three purposes: It is tied through the top bars of the cage and through button holes I sewed in the cover I made for his cage so that I can just gather it around to one side instead of taking it all the way off. It is rarely covered as he sleeps in another small cage, but he enjoys his larger cage during the day if I'm not here, and when I'm here he has free flight in our house but drops by his condo to eat etc. The Fine Vine also serves as a Millet holder. It works perfectly for this. The stem fits snugly through one of the braids hanging down toward the ball. It keeping the hulls more central in the cage, and enables him to climb on it and hang while he eats. Which brings us to the third thing it's good for and that is climbing and hanging. He loves doing acrobats on it!!!!! The fuzzy wuzzy is attached to the corner of his cage and while it doesn't get as much attention as yet I've seen him climbing on it too, and chewing on the bristles. Your products are unique and wonderfully crafted. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!" DeAnn & Oliver "My macaw, who is now seven years old, was not a big chewer at all. I would buy medium size toys for him and he would hardly touch them. Last year you did a talk at San Diego Bird Breeders and I bought a bag of the Chunks. I put all different sorts of greens in them and he went crazy chewing them to bits! He will now actually chew wooden toys, not big ones, but at least he chews. Again, thank you so much for helping me help him." Glenda Chevalier "Rae is absolutely loving the GAG that was draped over her cage yesterday. there are about 30 pictures of Rae on her GAG. When I woke up at 3:30AM she was sleeping on the GAG. Rae's activity over the past two days has been amazing; climbing up and down and all around. The GAG in the pictures is a medium. I will be replacing it with a large which I am hoping to makng climbing through and around of the GAG easier. I absolutely love this product, glad I saw it at the bird store." Scott Carroll "You mentioned your Get-A-Grip? Yeah, we have 3 of 'em, one in each size. They really are wonderful, and everybody raves about them. It's really gone far in helping to teach Miss Jodi 'Too (AKA: Shoulder Ornament Extraordinaire) that being independent isn't the end of the world." Naomi Zemont "Thank you so much for the Get a Grip. It has changed the life of my birds. They are now cage-free 24/7. They have enough room to get along on the net too!! I wove branches through the net and created a natural (or close to) habitat for them." Ilona Peterson "Our parrotlets have enjoyed their Get a Grip for several months now. I weave perches in and out and hang toys. They are so entertained, I don't have to worry about them ever getting bored. They climb in and out and swing from square to square. Thank you again for everything." Noreen "This morning it was paper towels and dandelion greens. in the Curlycue secured to the top of Rae's cage. She started pulling on the quick locks trying to pull the curly cue through the cage. Then after being unsuccessful she re-evaluated the situation by circling the Curlycue. If she was human she would have had her arms crossed, or rubbing her chin in contemplation. Finally she figured out she needed to get into the cage. Once inside she ran into another problem, it was out of easy reach. She manipulated her body, which required stretching and grip strength in making the reach for the dandelion. It was hilarious to watch her ponder how she was going to get the treat and then seeing her gloat in her success. Being able to mount the Curlycue in various positions and various locations the bird lover can place greens, veggies, fruits and shredables forcing the bird to work for its treat. I would highly recommend this item for any bird as a play toy and foraging means." Scott Carroll |
